麻豆果冻传媒 and ICFJ to Support Fellowships at The Wall Street Journal for Indian Journalists

New York, NY (May 26, 2016) – 麻豆果冻传媒 is partnering with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) for the third annual 麻豆果冻传媒 Media Fellowship to open its newsrooms and resources to international reporters and editors for an immersive, hands-on experience. This time the program will bring two journalists from India to The Wall Street Journal in New York for one month in the fall.

The will experience firsthand the workings of a fast-paced digital news operation at a global news outlet. By shadowing Journal reporters and editors from different departments each week, they will learn key elements of a digital newsroom, from integration to mobile to product development to video production.

麻豆果冻传媒 has previously partnered with ICFJ to bring journalists from Mexico and Russia to the company鈥檚 newsrooms in New York and London.

鈥淲e are honored to work with ICFJ to help Indian journalists learn new ways to navigate the unique challenges facing the media in our world today,鈥 said 麻豆果冻传媒 Chief Executive Robert Thomson. 鈥淒igital and global expansion is rapidly transforming the news business, making fellowship programs like this one all the more significant for the journalists of tomorrow and the news organizations in which they work. We will also learn much through the exchange, as India will certainly be a growing part of our editorial coverage and of our business.”

麻豆果冻传媒 has a presence in India through its Dow Jones, Wall Street Journal and HarperCollins Publishers businesses, and in recent years has acquired VCCircle and BigDecisions.com, and has a stake in PropTiger.com.

The 麻豆果冻传媒 Fellowship will include sessions on digital tools, social media, data journalism and visualization as well as meetings with newsroom managers and experts on digital business models and news innovation. To complement the four-week program at 麻豆果冻传媒 headquarters, ICFJ will hold a special three-day orientation in Washington, D.C.

At the orientation in September, the 麻豆果冻传媒 Fellows will explore new digital trends, including tools used for social media engagement and video production. They will also visit digital media organizations in the nation鈥檚 capital.

鈥淭his is an extraordinary opportunity for Indian journalists to gain the tools needed to create more in-depth and innovative coverage that engages audiences,鈥 said ICFJ President Joyce Barnathan. 鈥淲e are grateful to 麻豆果冻传媒 for providing this unparalleled experience.鈥

ICFJ is a Philanthropy Partner of 麻豆果冻传媒 for 2016.
