David Pitofsky

General Counsel

David B. Pitofsky is Executive Vice President, General Counsel of 麻豆果冻传媒.

Mr. Pitofsky oversees global legal operations including litigation, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, ethics and corporate governance matters. In his role, he advises executive leadership and the Board of Directors on issues ranging from media and intellectual property law, antitrust, securities compliance, commercial transactions, labor and employment, and data privacy. He joined 麻豆果冻传媒. in 2013 as Deputy General Counsel and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, and served as Chief Compliance Officer from 2015 to 2023.

Mr. Pitofsky previously held the position of partner at Goodwin Procter LLP. In his eight years at Goodwin Procter, Mr. Pitofsky鈥檚 litigation practice focused on white collar defense, government and internal investigations, and securities litigation and enforcement. His high-profile matters included representing a former Big 4 accounting partner who was acquitted at trial in what was then billed as the largest tax fraud case in U.S. history. He also represented Kenneth R. Feinberg in his role as Claims Administrator for the Gulf Coast Claims Facility, which was established in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon incident.

From 1996 to 2005, Mr. Pitofsky was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, rising to the level of Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. While in that office, he spearheaded the prosecution of a national computer software company and several of its senior executives for securities fraud and obstruction of justice, which resulted in convictions and a precedent-setting deferred prosecution agreement. Mr. Pitofsky was invited to make a presentation regarding the case to the President鈥檚 Corporate Fraud Task Force.

Mr. Pitofsky is a Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School focusing on the application of competition, copyright and consumer protection law at the intersection of media and technology. He is a longstanding member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. He is a former member of the Advisory Board of the NYU Law Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement..

In 2017, Mr. Pitofsky received the George A. Katz Torch of Learning Award from The American Friends of Hebrew University. In 2019, he received the Legal Champion of the Arts award at the 50th Anniversary Gala of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. In 2023, he received the Law & Society Award from the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest.

Mr. Pitofsky is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he received High Honors, and Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an Executive Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. He is a member of the New York Bar.

Mr. Pitofsky is married to Trena Keating and has three sons.
